First, the reassuring part. A bleed does not undo the months behind it. The vein wall does not reset, it gets tested. What matters is what you do in the next four days.

The acute protocol

During a flare, many of our customers take 6 capsules a day for the first four days, then drop back to the daily 2.

It front loads the tissue, and it is how this is run in the countries where micronized diosmin and hesperidin has been a pharmacy product for around thirty years.

One practical note. Six a day for four days uses twelve days of supply in four, so you will reach the end of a bottle sooner than the label suggests. Worth knowing now rather than discovering it mid protocol.

After the four days, back to two capsules with breakfast.

Before you change your dose

If you are unsure whether the acute protocol suits you, or you take blood thinners or other regular medication, please check with your doctor or pharmacist first. There is no rush on this and no downside to asking.

And one thing we would say to anyone. Bleeding that is new, that has changed in character, or that does not settle is worth having looked at properly. Hemorrhoids are the most common cause of it. They are not the only one.

Why it happens after you go, not before
